About Behavioral OpeN Data files. BOND files

Behavioral OpeN Data files are human readable data objects also known as BOND files with the file extension .bond and will be used alongside the legacy file types in HVS Image 2014

BOND files can be used to save, archive and transfer neuroscience configurations, calibrations, raw data and processed data. They follow the same format as JSON (/ˈdʒeɪsɒn/ jay-soun, /ˈdʒeɪsən/ jay-son) files, an open standard format that uses human-readable text to transmit data objects consisting of attribute–value pairs.

They are used primarily to transmit data between behavoral neuroscience applications.BOND files are a language-independent data format, and the code for parsing and generating JSON data which is readily available in a large variety of programming languages can be used to access them. BOND files follow ECMA-404 standard. The BOND filename extension is .bond
